Two city charities get large donations

City-based global charity World Vision received a boost of £10,000 from the Student Support Centre, provider of home-base tuition programmes.

The money has gone directly to the Nalitabari Education Project in Bangladesh, ensuring 338 children are able to attend school.

World Vision account manager Mark Jones said: "It is great to see our supporters show such commitment to help improve the lives of children who are living in desperate poverty.

"Through their generous support, we are able to work with communities in Bangladesh to make a lasting difference for the next generation."
