The Student Support Centre Launches Educational Magazine Online

The Student Support Centre has today announced the online launch of its successful educational magazine ‘Pass Masters’. Primarily for students enrolled on the ‘simply’ home study programmes, Pass Masters combines educational articles with games, activities, and competitions designed to encourage students to exhibit their work.

Sarah, Marketing Manager for The Student Support Centre says, “Pass Masters has become extremely successful in recent years, particularly as a showcase for student work and we would like it to continue to grow. The new website will allow us to update articles more frequently, gradually add video features and importantly, publish a larger variety of student work. We like students to showcase the skills that the ‘simply’ programme has helped them to develop and the new site will ensure that students get more of an opportunity to enjoy their work being published.”

New Features

The new Pass Masters is set to include features that aim to enhance the family’s involvement in their child’s ‘simply’ programme, such as outdoor competitions that require family time; like a ‘Photo of a Year’ event. Prizes will be educational and may include book vouchers or educational games whilst main prizes will be geared towards family activities and might include days out, as an example. Sarah commented, “Family life is extremely significant for children and young people, and whilst studying is important, we want our families to feel they structure their ‘simply’ programme around their lives, not the other way around.”

Sarah also announced that each Pass Masters issue will be dedicated to a specific ‘project topic’ covered by the National Curriculum, such as the Tudors or the Victorians, creating a useful homework aid. “Children will be able to browse their copies of Pass Masters for interesting project ideas and relevant articles that we hope will inspire their schoolwork” comments Sarah.

A Student Community

The new Pass Masters includes an updated All About You section, in which children write a profile of their hobbies, likes and dislikes, as well as their home study experiences and send it in.

“Studying on your own can be hard, and we found that students liked the All About You section because it reminded them that there is a community of other students working at home, just like them” says Sarah.

Green steps into 2010

Pass Masters’ move to web signifies a highly anticipated step towards greener running for The Student Support Centre. Sarah notes, “As a company we exist to enrich the futures of children, so we are concerned with environmental issues. We have been working towards publishing Pass Masters online to reduce our environmental impact and paper usage.”
