The Student Support Centre (Southern) Supports Tennis Fundamentals

It’s the time of year again for long summer holidays for some – along with many exciting sporting events such as the World Cup and Wimbledon.

Getting involved in the sporting spirit, The Student Support Centre’s Southern office has been helping Tennis Fundamentals for two years.

Tennis Fundamentals run holiday camps all over Northern Ireland during the Spring and Summer school holidays. Having been established for over sixteen years, around 1300 children aged from 6 – 14 attend the camps each year. From complete beginners to more advanced players, Totally Tennis camps provide children with three hours of professional sports tuition every day for either a week in May and June, or on longer holiday camps, running from six to nine weeks in July and August. The aim of the camps is to help children develop agility, balance, co-ordination and speed, in line with the current best practice for athletic development.

Alternatively, children can enrol on the Multisports camps – which include a daily tennis lesson as well as other sports such as football, cricket, hockey, baseball and American football. All lessons are conducted outdoors and children are kept active for three hours a day during the long summer holidays.
